Historical Background: Just a few kilometres away from Vasto, the village is situated between the rivers Osento and Sinello. The economy is mainly agricultural (in particular orchards, vineyards and olive groves, even if in the last decades also tourism has developed, thank to Lido di Casalbordino with its wonderful beaches and very good accommodation facilities. A very important place for pilgrimages is the sanctuary of the Madonna dei miracoli. Many archaeological finds bear witness to the presence of an ancient Roman settlement. The name Casalbordino probably comes from Roberto Bordinus, who ruled the village of Casalbordino founded in the 9th century.
