Historical Background: Right on the borders with the Molise region, it overlooks the Trigno valley at an altitude of about 800 mt above sea level. Castelguidone is immersed in the green nature and it is not by chance that the name comes from the German word which indicates the woods.Its origins dates back to the Early Middle Ages, as shows the name Wido, a synonym for wood although it was already called in the 14 th century Castrum Guidonum.
