Historical Background: The village has an agricultural vocation and lies on a hill overlooking the Tavo river. Founded in the Middle Ages, the commune took its name from its first feudatory Corbino di Alderamo, so Res Corbini. Collecorvino lies at an altitude of 255 mt above sea level and has a population of about 5000 inhabitants. The first official reference is res Corbibi, the feudatory has Longobard origins although the first mention is dated 835 a.d. In 1066 it belonged to the counts of Loreto, later was ruled by Matteo d’Atri, then the D’Aquino and d’Avalos.
