Historical Background: On a hill next to the Fino river, Elice is a typical Abruzzo’ s medieval village. Well-known for its artistic ceramics tradition, its origins date back to Prehistory. The name probably comes from IIex, which means holm-oak. The historical centre developed around the castle.
