Historical Background: The village is located on the left bank of the Trigno river, just a few meters away from the Molise borders. Fresagrandinara takes its name from sir Grandenatus, the feudatory who ruled the commune after he had conquered the monastery of St. Angelo, during the Middle Ages. On the Trigno valley, the village preserves the ruins of the St. Angelo monastery in the Salevento district. The town planning still preserves traces of the past.
