Historical Background: Situated in the Trigno Valley, Lentella is a village on the borders between Abruzzo and Molise. Of medieval origins, Lentella lies at an altitude of 400 mt above sea level and has a population of about 800 inhabitants. The village overlooks the valleys underneath. One of the most important religious buildings is the church of St. Cosma and Damiano. The first documents referring to this village date back to the 12th century. It was for a long time under the rule of the D’Avalos.
