Historical Background: This commune is situated next to the river Treste and it is characteristic for its medieval and Renaissance style houses. The village has a population of 900 inhabitants and lies at an altitude of 800 mt above sea level. The village lies in a wonderful position on a slope on the left bank of the Treste river. The most ancient document dates back to the 12th century, when it became part of the county of Monteodorisio.
