Historical Background: On a hill of the Pescara valley, Rosciano is an agricultural centre, in particular devoted to the grape growing and wine production. The history of this centre was bound to the abbey of St. Liberatore a Majella. Interesting is the hamlet of Villa Badessa, which hits two ancient Albanian colonies this community is made up of the descendants of the Albanians, who fled from their country to escape the Turkish attacks and arrived here in 1744, receiving two feuds where they could earn a living with agriculture. Their different religious worship rites have preserved their original idiom and their ethnic characters. Baskets and wicker baskets are the symbols of local handicraft, made with natural row material, such as olive-tree sticks, canes, wicker and willow tree, hand-shaped. Firstly containers for fishers and farmers, today they are used also in home furnishing and design.
