Historical Background: A small village in the National Park Gran Sasso Laga, an attractive tourist destination both in summer and winter. The origins of the village date back to the Roman age, when it was known as Fanum Adriani. Founded during the Roman Empire, Fano Adriano was mentioned for the first time in the 15th century, when it became a feud of Giacomo Antonio Orsini. Then it passed under the rule of Antonello Petrucci, Pardo Orsini and Alarcon Y Mendoza. It became an independent commune in 1806. The village in the Vomano valley preserves some valuable monuments: the parish church, situated in the ancient part of the village has a Renaissance façade (16th century), the bell-tower dated 1550 with a portal of 1693, the wooden ceiling and the altar are Baroque in style.
