Historical Background: Of a traditional agricultural economy, Notaresco has seen in these last years a strong development also in industry and manufacturing activities, thus becoming a modern centre. The history of Notaresco is rooted in the Roman Age, when the Municipium of Interamnia Pretutiorum (Teramo) was founded, a town between two rivers belonging to the Pretutii tribe. Notaresco lies on a hill of the Vomano Valley, Since the Renaissance the small town was under the rule of the Duke of Acquaviva. The name Notaresco comes from Lotaresco, a owner if one of the ancient cstles of the surroundings.
