Historical Background: Valle Castellana is situated on the slopes of the Monti della Laga and it is populated by the tourists especially in the wintertime for the presence of numerous ski slopes. There are numerous archaeological finds that testify the ancientness of this commune. Not far from of the ski tows of San Giacomo-Monte Piselli there is a good place for naturalistic and archaeological excursions among the wonderful Apennine, towards the S.Angelo cave (explored by the palaeontologist Mario Radmilli) there are interesting historical traces from the Paleolithic to nowadays.
